Wimmera Primary Care Partnership Inc (WPCP Inc) became incorporated on 1 July 2020 following a vote of its 28 member agencies. The purpose of incorporation has enabled the Committee of Management (formerly Executive Committee) greater control of organisational finances and improved responsiveness to the needs of our staff and communities. The work of the WPCP is managed by the Committee of Management in accordance with the Wimmera PCP Partnering Agreement and Rules of Association. The Committee of Management oversees the formation of the Strategic Plan; establish and monitor mutual responsibilities; are accountable for the Funding and Service Agreement and member agency; the collective performance as a partnership; and the appointment, support and monitoring of Executive Officer role.
The Committee of Management consists of a President, Vice-President and Treasurer and up to eleven members with a desirable minimum of nine. The term of office is two years (staggered over four years) in line with the partnership’s Strategic Planning and Partnership review processes.
Role of the WPCP President
The President & Chair “Chair” works collaboratively with the Transition Administrator of the WPCP Inc to coordinate the Committee of Management meetings; convene and chair the Committee of Management meetings; represent the WPCP Inc to external organisations, at state-wide PCP forums and media where required; ensure that matters before the Committee of Management are appropriately debated, and that all Committee members understand the impact of the resolution. The Chair remains impartial during debate; unless they choose to enter debate whereby he/she vacates the Chair; and convene special meetings of the WPCP Inc Committee of Management as needed.
